Ramadan lockdown

Aslm all,

Ramadan Mubarak everyone.

My favorite time of year is Ramadan, it's the month that we get to pray and read our Quran more. This year it's very different though, we've started to fast while in lockdown. To me, Allah has prepared us for Ramadan weeks ago. While in lockdown everyone has been  able to pray, read the Holy Quran more and talk to Allah (asking him to free us from the Coronavirus).

But how is Ramadan different this year? Well besides for all the mosques being closed ie. no Taraweeh salaah, our littles ones are having to fast while being at home, which is really hard for them. This is Ebrahim's second year of fasting and it's harder than last year. Largely because we in lockdown and there is not much for him to do besides watch tv, play and recite. Sounds like a normal day in my home  but we unable to eat or drink. For our son (who loves food), the first two days have been hard but Alhamdullilah, he survived them.

Ebrahim has also been asking why do we have Ramadan. Why are some allowed to eat while the rest have to fast. Ahmed explained to him that Ramadan is a month that we can connect more with Allah and its the month that we feel what those less fortunate than us feel like in terms of not being able to have a meal every day. Allah has said that those that are sick and little kids do not have to fast as it will do more harm to there bodies. Ebrahim seems to understand it, then has another question. So what's the difference between Ramadan and lockdown? Haven't we been doing these things while in lockdown? So the whole world is actually fasting even those that are not Muslim.

Mmmm, yes babe the whole world has been fasting. Subhanallah (Glory to God).

To all, please have a blessed month of Ramadan. May all our duas be answered during this blessed month. In Sha Allah, Ameen.

  1. Love it. Haani read it as well and she says you share a favourite time of the year with her.
