Aslm all,
I disappeared for a little bit, its been so long ago that I posted something I had to go back and read what was the last thing I posted. Lol.
Well, this is a quick post on what it is like living with 3 boys and me being the only girl. Someone actually asked me what it felt like. Umm, I had to think about it before I answered. My answer went something like.
The first words I hear in the morning are Mommy... (one of my boys are asking me for something), I haven't even had coffee yet (I need coffee in the morning to function properly), my answer to them is As-Salaam-Alaikum (peace be unto you) Mom, did you have a good nights rest. Yip, I greet myself lol, my boys catch on that I am actually telling them to greet first me first before they ask for something. They greet and my response is Wa-Alaikum-Salaam my boy (And unto you peace), yes I did how did you sleep and did you have awesome dreams? They will tell me there dreams if they can remember or its just Yes we had a good dreams.
After this the entire day all I hear is Mommy... where is my red block, I had it 5 minutes ago? or Mommy... do you know where my pencil is, my class is in 2 min and can't find my pencil. My favourite is Mommy … can I have …. most times its something they want to eat even if they've eaten like an hour ago?
Ahmed gets in on the action as well, his questions are a bit more on the lines of: Ayesha.. do we have enough bread or Ayesha... are you baking today coz I am having the last piece of chocolate cake. Or boys, leave your Mom alone she needs to work.
I went on to explain to my friend that I pick up toys all day, my house is not a house but rather a child's home (we have playthings everywhere), my day is filled with Oops … I did not mean too (normally from Uthmaan) after he has broken the Lego structure Ebrahim has built. My boys are not scared to fart or burp and to make it known to me that they've just farted. The life of a boy.....
My life revolves around building blocks with them or fighting imaginary monsters. I've even had an imaginary car race with them where Mommy has won the race.
But the best of my day is when they hug me at night and say in the sweetest of voices. I love you Mommy, As salaam.
This very moment is what steals my heart every time.
So raising boys are full of adventure, full of laughter and loads of car chases.... But I wouldn't have it any other way. After all, I love the things they do and I hope that our adventure will also continue.
As- salaam,
Ayesha
