Final report of the year.

Aslm all, 

Uthmaan’s school report…. Alhamdulilah he had such a beautiful school report (so happy). Uthmaan has progressed so much this year especially in his speech.

Most people that speak to him are able to understand him better. There are still those times when people ask me “what did he say?”

When Uthmaan started speaking we could not understand him. As time passed his speech improved and I was able to understand him better. It’s hard to explain but sometimes his words come out like gibberish, my normal response is to ask him to repeat himself slowly and then I can make out what he is saying.

In the last 6 months though his speech has progressed so well that his word is clearer, so proud of him. He is also a non-stop talker…. Yes, from the time he wakes up till he goes to sleep he does not stop talking. I wonder where he gets it from coz I definitely don’t talk that much…. Ahmed? Definitely his father’s child. 😊

Chatting to Shabnam (Uthmaan’s principal), she said we should re-evaluate in June 2020 re: progress on his speech. By then we would be able to determine if an intervention is needed ‘speech therapy’. For now, we need to continue talking normal to him i.e. no baby talk.
